Terms
A short, plain-English summary of how we work together. It isn't a substitute for the written proposal or agreement we send you before a project starts — that document covers your specific project. This page covers the general terms behind it.

Who we are
Queensland Web Portal Applications ("QWPA", "we", "us") is a web development consultancy based in Queensland, Australia. We design and build custom web portals for small businesses and sole traders.
What you're paying for
Each project has a one-off build fee, agreed with you before work starts, that covers designing and building your portal. Once that fee is paid in full, the software is yours to keep and use for as long as you like — there's no ongoing licence fee.
Hosting
Hosting is separate from the build fee and is an ongoing cost, billed either directly by the hosting provider or arranged through us at cost. We'll always tell you roughly what to expect before your project starts, and you're never locked into hosting through us specifically — the software is yours, and it can be moved.
What we need from you
Timely projects need timely input: content, feedback, decisions, and accurate information about how your business actually works. Delays on your end will generally push the delivery date back by the same amount.
Ownership
Once the build fee is paid in full, you own the software built specifically for you, and you own your own data — you can export it or take it elsewhere at any time. We retain the right to reuse general components, patterns and tools we've built up across other projects; we're not selling you those outright, just the portal built from them.
No guaranteed outcomes
We build the software you ask for, to a professional standard. We can't guarantee it will produce any particular business result — that depends on how it's used, same as any tool.
Liability
Our liability to you for anything arising from a project is limited to the fees you've paid us for that project. We're not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost data from causes outside our control, or similar — beyond what Queensland law says can't be excluded.
Ending an engagement
Either of us can end a project with reasonable written notice. You pay for the work completed up to that point; we hand over what's been built so far.
Governing law
These terms, and any project we do together, are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the courts of Queensland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page from time to time. The date at the top always reflects the latest version. Terms already agreed in a signed proposal aren't affected retroactively by a later change here.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, email info@qwpa.app and we'll talk it through before you commit to anything.
